There are two ways to explore the island: by speedboat or slowly by sea kayak. The first lets you pass by the island’s treasures without truly experiencing them. The second, however, allows you to fully enjoy the beauty. Starting from Levante, with fins and a mask, you’ll head towards Punte Nere, where lava flows have created picturesque coves. As you continue, you’ll reach the stunning Ròia cove, filled with vibrant colors and fascinating caves to explore by kayak or swim. Each cave offers unique natural beauty, from soft algae carpets to rusty-red velvet rocks, and even warm streams of water. This journey reveals the island’s rare, breathtaking charm in every detail. Just before reaching the “Schìcciula”, a modest little cave, you’ll discover a wonderful surprise: a hot mineral pool. If the cave exploration left you cold and tired, this warm bath in mineral water is the perfect remedy! Refreshed, you can continue the tour. Above, the walls drip with water, covered in moss and ferns. This is “A Schicciula”, a small branch of the clear stream from the Ròia valley. After passing Punta Lùccia, the journey continues towards Punta Quadrara, where you’ll find a small cove, a large porthole in the rock, and a tunnel. Only accessible by kayak or swimming, the tunnel leads to a small cave that bends right, releasing a surreal green-blue light, and then emerges on the other side. After crossing the tunnel, you can either head back or continue to Punta Bandiera if you’re doing a Full Day tour.
